The 2020 Toyota Sequoia comes in five trim levels: SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Pro, Limited, and Platinum. All trims are powered by a 5.7-liter V8 (381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque) paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. All Sequoia’s have Rear-wheel drive as standard, and four-wheel drive is optional. The SR5 and Limited models are capable to take eight passengers, while the second-row captain's chairs on the TRD Sport, TRD Pro, and the Platinum offer to seat for seven passengers.

Powering the 2020 Sequoia is a standard 381-hp 5.7-liter V-8 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The SUV is available in either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Based on a pickup truck, the SUV features rear suspension with a subtle design. The Toyota Sequoia produces a similar amount of horsepower as some of its prominent rivals but the six-speed transmission feels smooth but it hardly helps the Sequoia in improving the fuel efficiency, especially when compared to 10-speed transmission units found in Chevrolet Tahoe or the Ford Expedition.
This SUV can take you from 0 to 60 in just 7.1 seconds which is pretty good, taking the size into consideration. The engine of the Toyota Sequoia can never feel tired when passing slower traffic. The huge powertrain is useful in rough terrain and provides enough torque to climb steep hills.

The Toyota Sequoia runs neck to neck with the Chevrolet Tahoe and Ford Expedition in 0 to 60 runs while Discovery stands at last because of the lower displacement.
The steering is light and feels less connected to the main shaft at times. Although the handling is precise with a heavy feel at lower speeds. The suspension upgrade allows the SUV to absorb smaller bumps quite well. On a different note, the TRD models have firmer support.
The Sequoia's brake pedal is easy to modulate after initial inputs. The TRD Pro model is a good off-road trim as it offers a lifted suspension, beefy shock absorbers, and exclusive wheels with meatier tires.

The cheap-looking plastics and shabby controls still continue to get into the Sequoia's cabin. The bigger-is-better knobs and conspicuous buttons are undeniably functional, though. Still, it has some of the modern facilities mission comparatively. People looking for a durable interior will love how the carmaker has added options to the Sequoia. The 2020 Sequoia lineup comes installed with the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Toyota finally introduces Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability to the table after a long time. This is meant to be a much-awaited update in order to keep itself in line with the competition and make both smartphone-friendly features standard. The Sequoia also offers a Wi-Fi hotspot, which works with an initial trial-based subscription. A rear-seat entertainment system gets an upgraded JBL audio system.
The Sequoia held a healthy amount of carry-on luggage behind the third row and with rear seats stowed. This is noteworthy because Toyota doesn't have an extended version for increased cargo capacity as some rivals such as the GMC Yukon XL and the Ford Expedition Max. It also has enough interior cubby storage to moonlight as a mobile yard sale.

The Toyota Sequoia hasn’t been updated in recent years. The grille has been slightly reshaped in the year 2018 and it features different inserts depending on trim level. Based on the Tundra, the Sequoia has the largest dimensions and outdoes the $85,000 Landcruiser in terms of size. The short front and rear overhangs allow you to climb steep angles with ease and long-wheelbase accounts for a spacious interior.

The Ford Expedition comes with a full suite of safety features just like Toyota Sequoia’s Safety Sense system. In terms of cabin space, both the vehicles are well provided, but ford is a bit more sporty and performer when it comes to daily activities, also wearing modern interior. It also excels in the fuel economy part and the Sequoia is disappointing.
Similar to the Sequoia, the Chevy Tahoe also adapts a body-on-frame design layout that offers better towing capacity and cargo area. The Tahoe lacks the simple maneuver in tight spaces, unlike the Toyota Sequoia.
Despite bringing in the latest additions, the Toyota Sequoia is unable to please its long term fans. Competitors like Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition have been redesigned in order to provide better compatibility for buyer demands. Shoppers who are looking for a full-size three-row SUV with sufficient updates must try out the all-new Sequoia.
