The Premium trim, which comes at an MSRP of $68,200 offers all the essential features and many more too. With the inclusion of a 10-speaker audio system, leather upholstery, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, Audi MMI navigation plus infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the 2021 Q8 Premium is the best trim of the lot when considering the price to features ratio. However, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE punches out better performance numbers in comparison to the 2021 Audi Q8.

2021 Audi Q8 comes with the same twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0L TFSI V6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and signature Quattro All Wheel Drive. The engine produces an amazing 335 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. This motor is also backed by a 48-volt mild hybrid system which provided more initial thrust and better gas mileage.

All the trims of the 2021 Q8 still come with the same 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission and the legendary Quattro AWD system as standard, both of which provide an excellent driving experience. Though the transition is not as quick as some of the dual-clutch transmissions produced by Audi, it still is quite impressive for a torque converter. Shifts are impeccably smooth and decently quick. The Audi Q8 with its massive 3L TFSI V6 motor and Quattro AWD system is surely not something meant to churn out better gas mileage numbers, and this holds for the 2021 model also. The 2021 Audi Q8 returned a mediocre gas mileage of 17 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway, with a combined rating of 18 MPG. 

Though all the trims of the 2021 Audi Q8 remain unchanged in the mechanical front, they return identical gas mileage numbers too. With a decently large 22.5 gallons of fuel tank capacity, the 2021 Q8 offers a city range of 383 miles and a highway range of 473 miles. The combined range on offer before needing a fill-up would be 427 miles.

Clearly, the 2021 BMW X6 showcases an exceptional performance as compared to the rivals in terms of fuel economy and provides the maximum range too. 2021 Porsche Cayenne has the highest tank capacity but still gets a lower range than the 2021 BMW X6. There are voice controls and steering mounted controls too, both of which turned out to be quite intuitive to use. This infotainment system is one of the best we have encountered due to its excellent interface coupled with top-notch display performance on offer. The audio quality punched out by the Bang & Olufsen system is top-notch too.

The 2021 BMW X6 comes with an equally powerful engine as compared to rival Audi Q8 but manages to beat the latter in terms of outright acceleration times and fuel efficiency. Both brands are quite synonymous with luxurious exterior and interior along with unmatched safety performance, however, the BMW X6 comes at a lower price tag of $64,300, which is lower by close to $4,000 in comparison to the Q8. But Q8 beats X6 in practicality front due to the more impressive cargo space on offer along with a slightly better interior offering more standard features.
