The 2021 Buick Envision comes in 3 trims- Preferred, Essence and Avenir. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard for all the trims. All the models can be opted for in an AWD version as well.

We will recommend the Preferred trim from the Envision lineup. Apart from its decent mileage, it packs features including cooled front seats, top-rated infotainment and navigation system, and all the features that are available in the other trims.

While the Envision feels perky around town, it never manages to feel particularly quick, especially when compared with key rivals- Car and Driver

The 2021 Buick Envision comes equipped with a 2.0L Turbo DOHC SIDI With Variable Valve Timing (VVT) motor which produces 230 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.  The 9-speed automatic works like a charm but is tuned more towards comfort rather than outright performance. 

The Buick Envision’s AWD setup also ensures that you get out of tricky situations but it's no serious off-roader in anyways. The Buick's 2.0-liter engine allows the Envision to sprint from 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 15.1 seconds.

It is capable of a top speed of 130 MPH (estimated) and takes almost 127-ft to stop from 60MPH. Considering the segment, the sprint numbers are quite at par with the segment but lack the pushback feel that some of the rivals offer.

The competitors fare a better braking distance with the BMW being able to stop the car at 114ft and the Lincoln Corsair at 126ft. The 0-60 timing of the Buick Envision is better than the Lincoln Corsair.

The BMW X3 tops the chart followed by the Audi Q5 in terms of their 0-60 timing as well as braking performance. However, it is the Lincoln Corsair that offers the best braking setup which leads to the minimum braking distance when coming from 60 to 0 mph.

The 2021 Buick Envision provides a much better fuel economy in comparison to its last year's model. There is a massive jump in the MPG figures courtesy of the turbocharged unit which helps the Buick to traverse at least 382 miles on a full tank of gas, thanks to the 15.9 gallon fuel tank on offer.

The Audi Q5, despite falling short of the MPG figures when compared to the Buick, can travel a lot of distance with its massive 18.5-gallon fuel tank. However, it is the Bimmer that comes closest to the Audi in terms of the range on offer, followed by the Buick and the Lincoln.

The 2021 Buick Envision offers a commanding position and an upmarket cabin. The 2021 Envision dawns a futuristic look on the inside and offers a redesigned dashboard and center fascia. The Envision seats up to 5 adults and provides enough headroom and legroom in both rows. The Buick Envision has an attractive cabin but fails to feel and look as luxurious as its rivals. 

The cabin of the Envision is quite commodious and there is a negligible difference with its rivals. The Envision offers a trunk capacity of 57.3 cubic feet which is one of the best in its class. However, if you want the most spacious car in its class then the Audi Q5 comes out at the top due to its clever design on the inside to liberate more space.

The 2021 Buick Envision offers an intuitive infotainment system. It comes equipped with an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. The SUV also offers wireless charging, navigation, premium Bose 7-speaker audio system. SiriusXM Satellite Radio is available as an upgradable option. It also offers Bluetooth connectivity, four USB, Built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Exterior styling refinements to the redesigned 2021 Buick Envision lineup include a snazzier exterior with multiple changes to the front and the rear. The Avenir trim features a unique signature mesh grille and a unique set of wheels alongside other unique materials and interior trims. 

The Envision is 3.1 inches longer than the Lincoln Corsair and 2.2 inches shorter than the BMW X3. The Lincoln Corsair also has the shortest wheelbase, followed by Envision, Q5, X3. 

The Envision weighs heavier than its rivals, with a base curb weight of 4083 lbs. In terms of ground clearance, all the vehicles fare similarly and the Envision has a ground clearance of 7.9 inches while the BMW X3 offers 8 inches of ground clearance.

Scoring the highest possible rating of “GOOD” in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) crashworthiness tests and five out of five-star in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) rating, the 2020 Buick Envision has proven its safety and sturdiness. 

The 2021 Buick Envision is expected to maintain its safety standards. Apart from the safety standards, the Buick Envision offers various standard and optional safety features.

2021 Buick Envision Vs 2021 BMW X3

In terms of Exterior, the BMW is a show-stopper with a classy and modern feel and look. The BMW offers a much more luxurious interior, a better handling experience, a much more fuel-efficient engine, an exceptional powertrain. It offers more space and tops the SUV list in the price range. However, the Buick Envision provides a lot of value for its price, has Android Auto (the BMW does not), is a valuable option for an SUV. The BMW X3, however, outperforms the Buick Envision in all criteria.

The Audi Q5 provides suave styling, chic interiors and provides an essence of luxury. The Audi also equips a powerful and thrifty powertrain. Overall, the Audi is a much more luxurious vehicle with better performance, powerful acceleration, and a better economy. Also making Audi a much more expensive option. Audi Q5 bites up on cargo space. The Envision lies in the middle of crossover luxury SUVs.

2021 Buick Envision Vs 2021 Lincoln Corsair

The Lincoln Corsair and the Buick Envision are priced competitively, have similar performance, and have minimal differences. The Envision offers better acceleration, while the Corsair takes the edge over better looks, upscale, plenty of features. The Lincoln also provides better passenger capacity and good legroom space in both rows. Overall, the Corsair feels much more luxurious than the Envision for its price.

The Buick Envision is a good vehicle for people looking for a premium vehicle to add in their garage without burning a hole in their pockets. It fits itself somewhere between being affordable and being in a luxury category and hence can be a valuable option for a lot of buyers as it is priced quite less to its competitors. However, the Envision doesn’t live up to the standard of luxury and those who are interested in buying the high-end trims might as well invest in the base trim of the competition like the BMW X3, Audi Q5 or the Mercedes-Benz GLC.
