Two trim options – Mustang and Mustang Premium - are on offer with the 2021 Ford Mustang. The starting price of this muscle car is $27,205 for the base model while the range-topping Premium model is priced from $32,225. Both the Mustang and Mustang Premium trims are powered by the same 310 hp 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine.   

The engine is hooked up to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and opting for the 10-speed automatic transmission pushes the price up by $1,595 in both trims. With the optional Ford Performance upgrades, the power from the engine jumps to 330 hp with the same 350 lb-ft of torque.

Unless one is keen on upgrading to the 2021 Ford Mustang GT for $36,285 with the V8 engine, the Ecoboost models are very much the sportscar anyone would love. This generation has truly raised the bar for Ford in terms of chassis and suspension tuning and has played a big role in the Mustang becoming a favorite across the world.

The most efficient Mustang is the one powered by the turbocharged four-cylinder with the 10-speed automatic.- Car And Driver

Buyers of this segment rarely consider the fuel economy figures. However, the fuel economy figures delivered by the 2021 Ford Mustang are at par with its rivals. The car does 21 MPG in city usage while out on the highway it can do about 30 MPG which results in a combined usage of 24 MPG. This is hooked up to the smallest fuel tank in the category at 15.5-gallons which results in an overall driving range of 372 miles.

In fact, except for the old and burly Dodge Challenger, none of the cars have bested the 2021 Ford Mustang's fuel efficiency figures, and thereby, demonstrated it is something to be proud of.  Despite having the smallest engine, the Chevy Camaro has the least fuel economy and tries to masks that fact with the big 19-gallon fuel tank which is the biggest in the segment.
