The Defender gets a total of 2 engine options - a 2.0L Turbocharged 4-cylinder and a 3.0L Twincharged inline-6. The Base variant gets the 2.0L Turbocharged inline-4 which produces 296 hp and 296 lb-ft torque that is more than enough for regular day-to-day use. The Jeep Wrangler is much cheaper than the Defender. However, it is not as practical as the Defender. The stiff suspension setup of the Wrangler gives it great off-road capabilities, however, it feels a bit harsh on the normal roads. The Defender can handle the off-road tracks and the normal city driving conditions with the same poise.
The Defender also triumphs the Wrangler in terms of interior space and features offered. The Defender is also more powerful than the Wrangler. However, the Wrangler offers more horsepower per dollar as well as better fuel efficiency.
