Overall Rating
The all-new RAM 1500 Crew Cab showcases a perfect blend of performance, luxury, and utmost reliability. Since its launch, the RAM 1500 has been a popular choice in the pick-up truck segment with regular upgrades and design improvements.
The changes on the 2021 Ram 1500 include newly available safety and driver-assistive technologies such as head-up display, a fully digital rearview mirror, and a feature that controls the truck's steering when backing up to a trailer. For off-road shenanigans, Off-Road pages have been included that show transfer case position, ride height, pitch and roll, and accessory gauges. These are welcome addition with the all-new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX priced at $70,095. It gets a 702 hp supercharged HEMI V8 motor, allowing the 1500 TRX to tow a maximum of 8100 pounds and accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
So the already top-rated full-size pickup among rivals such as Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and GMC Sierra 1500, becomes a lot more capable and versatile as well. The price of the 2021 Ram 1500 starts from an MSRP of $35,645 for the base Tradesman trim and ranges up to $60,350 for the top-of-the-line Limited variant. These prices are excluding the $1,695 destination fee which the light-duty pickup invites. For leasing, the Ram 1500 will cost you around $380 per month for 36 months, with $4,999 due at signing.
The RAM 1500 Crew Cab offers a variety of trims and configurations to choose from. The line-up gets six different trims starting from the basic Tradesman model to the high-end Limited trim with loads of premium features and sensational powertrain. We recommend the mid-range Laramie or Rebel models which sit in the sweet spot of luxury, performance, and style.
The overall body structure of the new RAM 1500 Crew Cab gets premium treatment with loads of chrome finishing, upscale design statement, and revamped interior space.

"It's strong, and it's easy to drive in just about every situation." - Edmunds.com
The Ram 1500 gets a total of 3 gasoline engine options - a standard 3.6L V6, a 5.7L V8, and a more powerful 6.2L Hellcat V8. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard regardless of the engine choices. The standard 3.6L V6 engine of the truck is capable of churning out 305 hp along with 269 lb-ft of torque.
If you are looking for beastly performance, a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine is also available which makes around 395 horses and 410 lb-ft. of torque. Both engines are aided by a 48-volt electrical system that behaves more as a propulsion assist rather than a true hybrid. It comes as standard across the range on the lesser 3.6-liter V6. On the more powerful 5.7-liter V8, that eTorque system remains optional.

Then comes the supercharged RAM 1500 TRX with a Hellcat V8, which with 702 horses on point is one of the fastest trucks in the world, with a 3.7 second 0-60 MPH time. The regular Ram 1500 can sprint from 0-60 mph in 7.5 seconds and can cover a quarter-mile drag in 14.7 seconds, which is pretty impressive accounting for the massive structure and heavy weight. Apart from the gasoline variants, this pickup is also available with a 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel engine option rated to have a maximum towing capacity of 12,560 lbs.

However, equip this Crew Cab with the right components and it offers a maximum towing capacity of 11,750 pounds, which is more than all other pickups in this segment, except the obvious Ford F-150. Moreover, for the model year 2021, RAM is also offering improved trailer-specific features, such as the multifunction tailgate that further eases the task of carrying stuff.

The 2021 Ram 1500 can roll for 20 miles in the city or can cruise through 25 miles on the highway for every gallon of gasoline, with the base 3.6L V6. Meanwhile, the optional 5.7L V8 engine returns an average of 17 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway. The turbo-diesel, on the other hand, delivers 22 and 32 MPG in the city and highway respectively. Concisely, with the AWD set up across the board, the fuel efficiency drops by 1 MPG.

The Ram 1500 Crew Cab benefits greatly from its hybrid powertrain. Consequently, it has the most fuel-efficient engine. Ford uses a smaller 3.3L variant of the same V6. Still, the F-150's mpg figures do not exceed that of Ram due to the lack of a hybrid powertrain. The bigger V6 engines on the Silverado and Sierra 1500s offer better torque, which is why they fall behind in fuel economy.

"Inside, the Ram 1500 has a supremely functional cubby stowage and cavernous passenger space." - CarAndDriver.com
When it comes to interior space, pick-up trucks are generally boring with standard amenities and seating arrangements. Fortunately, this is not the case with the latest RAM 1500 Crew Cab. The 2021 Ram 1500's interior packs a plethora of advanced features, comfortable leather-trimmed seating, and ample passenger space.
There's a stylish dashboard design, grippy steering wheel with a heating feature, multiple power adjustments, extended supports for long-lasting comfort, and many more. The cabin of the RAM 1500 is completely suitable for long rides. The recent redesign of the 2019 RAM 1500 was responsible for a complete revamp. For 2021, the cab will continue to flaunt its premium finish with uncanny attention to detail.

"The big-rig look and crosshairs grille are mostly gone, what’s left is a more contemporary truck that’s also a little more anonymous." - TheCarConnection.com
The recent redesign of the 2019 RAM 1500 Crew Cab did get significant exterior tweaks. This included a sleeker side structure, bolder front, new LED headlight design, and new bumpers. Since the design is still fresh, the 2021 model will witness absolutely no changes on the exterior front.
The front gets the signature Ram grille with a black background and new bumpers. The new LED headlights with fog lights give the truck a modern look. The base Tradesman variant impresses with its work-oriented features but on the higher trims such as the Limited, there’s a generous use of chrome and fancy LED all around. It is also the eye candy of the lineup, thanks to the exclusive paint schemes.

Despite being the heaviest truck in the segment at over 4900 lbs, the RAM 1500 does not compromise on the performance front. The exterior look is sleeker and gets sportier accents. The overall body structure of the truck is balanced with a dynamic design and high agility around corners. Competitors like the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 also impress with a sporty design and bolder look.

Though the power and engine choices offered in this Chevy pickup are higher than RAM 1500, the latter has a much better performance and fuel economy to offer. The towing capacity of the Silverado 1500 and Ram 1500 are pretty much similar.
However, the Silverado looks a bit more appealing than the Ram with its bold styling. Apart from that, the interior space of both the trucks is quite similar with the latest range of infotainment and connectivity options and plush seating.
The one with the widest wheelbase and a plethora of advanced features, the RAM 1500 is definitely on the top list of pick-up trucks. Moreover, the F-150 has also received an extensive update for 2021, thus giving it an edge in terms of styling and interior features.
Speaking of numbers, the Ford F-150 equips a 3.3L V6 engine as compared to the 3.6L V6 hybrid you get in the Ram 1500. Still, the Ford F-150 does not lag behind the Ram 1500 in terms of mileage or otherwise. Also, this Ford pickup is better than the Ram in terms of towing and payload capacities.
The 2021 Ram 1500, for a starting price of MSRP $35,645 is the most ideal choice of all other pickups in this segment. The build quality of the RAM 1500 is top-notch with sturdy material selection and new design concepts. The interior of the truck also gets a luxury touch with leather-wrapped seats, multiple power adjustments, and more appealing ergonomics. It offers competitive towing and payload capacity, and also has the most fuel-efficient engine amongst others making it the most ideal choice.
