The 2021 Toyota Tundra Crewmax is offered in a choice of 5 trims - SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition. The prices begin from an MSRP of $37,970 for the SR5 trim, and go all the way up to $48,895 for the Platinum and 1794 Edition trims. The Limited trim priced at $44,255, is the only trim in which the Nightshade appearance package is available.

The 2021 Toyota Tundra Trail Special Edition is only available as the Crewmax will be limited to just 5000 units, it is based on the SR5 trim, with features being borrowed from the 1794 Edition and Platinum trim. All of the trims are powered by a 5.7L V8 and comes with 4x2 drivetrain as standard, the option of 4WD is available for an additional $3,050.

From the available 4 trims on offer, the Limited trim makes the most sense as the value for money proposition. It opens the gate to the coveted Nightshade appearance package, comes with almost all the features of daily usage, has the bigger fuel tank, and is priced perfectly at $44,255.

The 5.7-liter V8 has plenty of thrust, but that's about the best thing we can say about the Tundra's performance - Edmunds

The 2021 Toyota Tundra Crewmax comes 5.7L V8 engine that makes 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission that directs the power to the rear wheels, or a 4WD system, depending on the drivetrain you select. The 2021 Toyota Tundra can tow up to 10,100 pounds. 

The 2021 Toyota Tundra Crewmax does the 0-60 sprint in 6.4 seconds, which is faster than the Ford F-150, Ram 1500, and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. It does the standing quarter-mile in 15-seconds and will achieve a top speed of 110 mph.

The Ram 1500 makes 305 hp and which is the most powerful among the competition, the Ford F-150 makes 290 hp and then is the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 making 285 hp. The Toyota Tundra is at least 75 hp more than the competition and makes more torque as well. Thanks to its larger displacement engine.

The 2021 Tundra Crewmax offers EPA-rated fuel economy numbers of 13 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highway, and 15 mpg combined. Depending on the trim, the fuel tank capacity also varies between 26.4 gallons and 38 gallons.

In the base SR5 trim (MSRP - $37,950), the fuel tank capacity is fixed at 26.4 gallons which allows you to get an overall combined range of 396 miles. However, as soon as you upgrade to the Limited trim and above, the fuel tank capacity is upgraded to 38 gallons which makes way for a total combined range of 570 miles after a full refuel.

The Ram 1500 offers 22 mpg combined which is the best fuel of the above economy ratings. The Ford F-150 offers 21 mogs and the Chevrolet Silverado offers 17 mpg combined and all of them offer more than the Toyota Tundra combined mpg.

The Tundra's interior is spacious and dotted with oversized features, but it's an outdated presentation and the materials in most models feel cheap and rubbery. - Car And Driver

The Toyota Tundra comes with a seating capacity of 6 and reduced to 5 on the Limited (MSRP - $44,255) and higher trims, which adds a full center console. The front row seats are manually adjustable seat and the Limited trim and higher features a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat with heated front row seats with a 6-way manually adjustable front passenger's seat. 

Cloth seats are upholstered on the base SR trim with the SR5 getting it in black, as you get higher in the trims leather upholstery is available in color options, along with dual-zone automatic air conditioning, lower trims get single zone automatic and the base gets manually-adjustable air conditioning. In terms of cargo capacity all come with a pick-up bed, but the Tundra does come with a long-bed option as well, which not on the Ram, Ford or Chevy.

The 2021 Toyota Tundra comes with a 7-inch touchscreen system running on Toyota's Entune system and comes with Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, Amazon Alexa compatible, USB charging and media ports, SiriusXM satellite radio (3-month subscription), and a 6-speaker sound system. 

The SR5 trim (MSRP - $37,970) comes with an 8-inch touchscreen with a 9-speaker sound system. The Limited trim adds a navigation system with real-time traffic information, voice recognition, and steering wheel controls. The Platinum and 1974 Edition adds a 12-speaker JBL Premium Sound system.

The 2021 Toyota Tundra still looks like the past few year's models and has been holding the same design since its release with light modifications, the truck still seems like a thing of the past and the brand has not furnished any design changes this year either. There are a total of 12 colors to choose from including Voodoo blue and Army Green (1974 Edition only). In the front, you get the giant and imposing grille flanked by the rather small headlamps that are halogen-powered in the SR5 trim and LED-powered in all the others.

With 18-inch wheels as standard, the side silhouette is no different than a conventional pickup truck. Thanks to the smart building practices, the 2021 Toyota Tundra Crewmax, despite having a length of 228.9-inches (smaller than all the competitors) with a bed size of 5.5-feet, the truck still seems much bigger. The rear also looks exactly the same as before with the LED taillamps, and manually operated tailgate.

Compared to the others, the Toyota Tundra Crewmax is actually the heaviest despite being the shortest in length. The Ford F-150 Supercrew is actually the lightest one while the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab is just in the second spot with 4,702 lbs. The RAM 1500 Crew Cab occupies the third place in terms of weight but it is the longest, tallest, and widest among the lot. 2021 Toyota Tundra Crewmax vs 2021 Ram 1500 Crew Cab

The 2021 Ram 1500 does have lesser power, performance, and lesser towing capacity, but offers better mpg numbers than the Toyota Tundra and more legroom in the back seat. Also, the Ram offers luxurious interiors which gives it a bit of an edge. Also, the Ram looks better as well making it a good option for the Tundra. But, the V8 performance does make it a very attractive offering at its price.

2021 Toyota Tundra Crewmax vs 2021 Ford F-150 Supercrew

Like the Ram 1500, the Ford F-150 Supercrew offers a better mpg. The F-150 also comes with more interior space along with more modern style on the interior and exterior and is America's best-selling truck. However, the Toyota Tundra comes with a V8 engine which makes more power, better performance, and better-towing capacity, which is what pick-up trucks are to excel at. 

2021 Toyota Tundra Crewmax vs 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 comes with more fuel economy numbers and much more space, however, performance, power, and towing capacity are lesser than the Toyota Tundra, as the Silverado, like the Ram and Ford, comes with a smaller engine, but its towing capacity is the closest of the competition, it's lesser by 400 pounds to the Tundra, making it the best alternative to it.

Though the older powertrain, low MPG figures, and older design might stick out to many. However, the Tundra does come with a V8 engine and is the most affordable way to get it in a pick-up truck and can tow up to 10,100 pounds, which is more than the competition, which is what pick-up trucks are meant for.
