Chevrolet alias Chevy is a well-known subsidiary of General Motors Company. Chevrolet is globally famous for its entry-level sports car named 'Camaro', which was first introduced in 1967. The company has recently introduced the 50th anniversary model of the popular 'Camaro'. Though the look resembles its predecessors, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe seems a bit more muscular in the first look.
The new Chevrolet Camaro comes with 3 engine options to choose from. LS and LT trims have the 2-liter turbocharged engine as standard while the SS trims get the 6.2-Liter Turbocharged V8. The ZL1 is one beast of a car as it carries a 6.2-Liter Supercharged V8 under its hood. There is also an optional 3.6-Liter V6 available for the LT trims.
We would recommend to go all out and opt for the Camaro ZL1 to get that authentic muscle car experience. The ZL1 comes with a 6.2-liter supercharged engine that provides an astounding power output of 650 hp along with equal torque figures. Being a top of the line model, it comes equipped with all the interior and safety features provided by Chevy.

Chevrolet Camaro 1LS is boosted with a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which produces the best-in-class power of 275 HP. The engine is competent and muscular enough for a sporty Camaro experience.
The competitors like Subaru BRZ Premium, Toyota 86 have a similar power output of 205 hp, while the Ford Mustang V6 provides a power output of 300 HP.

Chevrolet Camaro Coupe features a 6-speed manual transmission, which is the same as the competitors in the segment. The powerful engine in the 2017 Camaro Coupe produces an astonishing amount of torque in the segment which counts at 295 lb.-ft. The rivals are far behind the Camaro in this segment except for the Ford Mustang clearly outshines its competitors in the engine and transmission segment.
The Camaro Coupe 2017 surprised us in the acceleration segment, as it takes just 4.3 seconds in attaining a speed of 60 MPH from a standstill. The powerful 2.0L engine shows its caliber as you put your foot on the accelerator. The other rivals take significantly higher time in the 0-60 MPH test when compared with the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe.

The quarter-mile test results are also impressive for the Camaro. The Camaro Coupe took just 11.1 seconds in covering a quarter-mile. The competitors like Subaru BRZ Premium, Toyota 86, took the same 15.0 seconds to reach the quarter-mile distance, while the Ford Mustang took 14.1 seconds. The CO2 emission is highest in the Ford Mustang, as it has a sportier engine than its competitors.
The overall riding experience is exciting as the acceleration is thrilling enough for the segment. The car boosts 0-60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, and transmission was manual though smooth. The seating is decent though isn’t much moveable. The leather covering on the seats with contrast stitching makes them look richer. The material quality was acceptable for the interiors though it's not premium at all.
The steering is small and easily adjustable and it delivers a strong and confident riding experience but riding on congested roads is not that convenient due to lack of visibility. The blind-spot monitor and rear-view camera helps a bit regarding the visibility but they still lack when compared with the rivals. The suspension was fluid even on a bit of a harsh road. The overall riding experience was sporty and impressive if we ignore some minor flaws.
The braking system offered in the Camaro Coupe 2017 is firm and convenient. The braking pads offer a decent grip. The braking pads measure 12.4 inches and 12.6 inches for the front and rear pads respectively. Although the company has tried to make the new 2017 coupe lighter, Camaro Coupe 2017 still weighs higher than its competitors at 3354 lbs.

Other competitors i.e. Subaru BRZ Premium and Toyota 86 take a similar distance while decelerating from 60 MPH to still. The Ford is the most efficient in this segment with a stopping distance of just 109 feet.
The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe offers impressive mileage considering the sporty nature and powerful engine of the coupe. The 2017 coupe offers a fuel economy of 20 mpg and 30 mpg on city roads and highways respectively, which is decent for an entry-level sports coupe.

The combined average comes out at 23 MPG for the Camaro Coupe 2017 while the competitors offer better-combined mileage. The Subaru and Toyota have a similarly combined mileage of 24 mpg, while the Ford Mustang has the least mileage of 21 mpg.
The Camaro has a seating capacity of up to four passengers. The interiors are decent in looks and quality, though aren't premium. The leather covers on the seats somehow enhance the interior look.Â
The seats are spacious and comfortable for the front passengers but it's not in the case for the rear seats. The rear seats feature lower dimensions and space, especially the headroom. The rear seats will definitely bother the passenger especially if the passenger is six feet tall. Overall, the interiors are decent but the rear seats aren't spacious.

The Ford beats the competition in this segment with a maximum cargo volume of 13.5 cu-ft behind the rear seats. Chevrolet Camaro 1LS provides average cargo volume in the segment while the Ford Mustang V6 has best-in-class boot space.
Chevrolet Camaro Coupe 2017 is equipped with bigger 20-inch tires, Orange brake calipers, and a special badging and stripe on the 50th-anniversary edition.
The roof has a chopped roof design which seems sporty but compromises visibility and back-passenger space in the Coupe. There is no doubt that the car offers the best-in-class sport exterior and looks.

The NHTSA has rated the new Chevrolet Camaro with a perfect 5-star rating. The IIHS has also provided a ‘Good’ rating for most of the tests along with an ‘Average’ rating for roof strength. Along with that, the Camaro Coupe 2017 is equipped with advanced safety features like Blind Spot Monitor, StabiliTrak (stability control system with brake assist), and Trunk emergency release handle. The rear vision camera and smart parking assistance system is also present in the Camaro Coupe 1LS for safer parking.
The Camaro Coupe is equipped with a powerful engine that produces better acceleration than Subaru XLS.
Camaro excels the Subaru BRZ Premium in segments like cargo volume, exteriors, and riding experience. On the other hand, Subaru XLS features better visibility, fuel economy, and spacious back seats on the board.
The Toyota 86 features spacious interiors, fuel economy, and infotainment system when compared with the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe.
On the other hand, Coupe 1LS outshines Toyota 86 in acceleration, boot space, and braking. Toyota 86 is the closest competitor of the 2017 Camaro Coupe in the segment.
With a much bigger engine, the Ford Mustang provides the highest power output in the comparison, but it still lacks the acceleration when compared to the Chevy.
The bigger engine also leads to more fuel consumption and thus the Mustang is low on mileage. However, Ford has great braking performance along with a bigger cargo volume that improves the practicality of the vehicle.
The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe features best in the class engine, acceleration, and sports car experience in the segment. It has sporty exteriors, spacious front seats, and good handling experience along with decent fuel economy and safety features. The downsides of the 2017 Chevy Camaro Coupe include less convenient boot space, visibility, and congested back seats. At last, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe delivers a thrilling sports car experience in the segment.
