General Motors is not holding back as far as electrification is concerned and its sub brand like Cadillac is not trying to stay behind. So far, it has released LYRIQ and Celestiq as part of the EV lineup. Now we finally have the electrified Escalade that is coming in 2025.
2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ Is A $130,000 SUV With 750 HP and 450 Miles Of Range

The Cadillac Escalade has been around since 1998 when it debuted for the 1999 model year. It has been more than two decades now and the Escalade is still a preferred choice for the elite of the society.

Be it an A-list celebrity like Johnny Depp or American football star, Tom Brady, each of these renowned personalities feel proud to own this iconic vehicle. Now Cadillac has introduced an electric version of the same which will be setting new standards for luxury electric SUVs.

The Escalade IQ is the first Cadillac EV model to get ‘IQ’ after the name. So far, Cadillac has been just attaching it at the tail of its EV models. Take the Lyriq SUV and Celestiq sedan for example. Furthermore, the IQ is the first fullsize SUV from Cadillac that shares the Ultium Platform with its siblings. It also utilizes the Ultifi software platform from GM.

The Cadillac Escalade IQ SUV will be coming for the 2025 model year. It will be up for sale in the summer of 2024 with a starting price tag of around $130,000.

Unlike the gasoline Escalade which finds likeness with the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the Escalade IQ shares similarities with the GMC Hummer EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV. It has an 800-volt DC fast charging architect and a 24-module Ultium battery with 200 kWh of available energy.

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ has dual permanent-magnet motors and an all-wheel drive system. On Velocity Max drive mode, the Escalade IQ can produce maximum power of up to 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. Otherwise, in Normal Mode, the 2025 Escalade IQ SUV generates 680 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque.

The Lithium-ion battery pack allows an estimated electric range of 450 miles. In just 10 minutes of charging, you can drive the new Escalade IQ EV SUV for 100 miles. However, if you are charging it at home with a 19.2 kW AC connection then it would give you 37 miles of range in an hour. Meanwhile, with 240V or 7.7 kW Including a dual-level charge cord, the Escalade IQ charges for 14.8 miles per hour.

If you are driving the new IQ SUV with Velocity Max setting then it can do 0-60 MPH in less than 5 seconds. Moreover, Cadillac claims that the Escalade IQ SUV can have a maximum towing capacity of 8,000 lbs. It is an impressive towing power but doesn’t forget how attaching a trailer affects the overall range. That said, the automaker has not revealed the curb weight yet but we believe it to be between the curb weight of the Silverado EV and the Hummer EV.

If you remember the teaser that Cadillac posted online, you will be able to instantly recognize the vertical headlights. The front fascia also has an illuminated grille while the top has a long roofline just like the regular Cadillac SUV. Overall, the imposing appeal and persona of the Cadillac has not changed. That said, the Escalda IQ will run with an aggressive stance with 24-inch alloy wheels.

As far as dimensions are concerned, they tell that the new Cadillac IQ mode is even more massive than the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. It has a length of 224.3 inches and a wheelbase of 136.2 inches. It is 76.1 tall and 85.3 wide provided the mirrors are folded. Furthermore, the Escalade IQ SUV turns with a radius of 39.4 inches. Besides that, it has a ground clearance of 6.9 inches. On a side note, the Cadillac Arrival Mode mirrors the CrabWalk done by the Hummer EV.

The cabin's luxury and practicality are everything you could have expected from Escalade. The new IQ SUV has three rows and behind the last one, you get up to 23.7 cu-ft of cargo volume. At the same time, the ‘eTrunk’ under the hood provides 12 cu-ft of storage space. Additionally, you will find laser-etched wood trim along with leather seats in the cabin.

In the front row, the large display that stretches up to 55 inches is actually made out of two screens but there is a division in between so that the driver does not get confused or distracted. A 35-inch screen is before the driver while a 25-inch screen is for the passenger. There are no physical controls for the five-zone climate controls, ambient lighting, and other features. You will need to operate the 11-inch screen below the 55-inch dashboard display.

The infotainment system supports Google Built-In integration but there is no Apple CarPlay support. A 9-speaker AKG Studio audio system comes as a standard setup which can be traded with a 40-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system.

Having said that, with an optional Executive Second-Row Seating package consumers can get a rear command center screen, two wireless phone charging pads, 12.6-inch rear headrest monitors, USB-C and HDMI ports, towable tray tables, and captain's chairs with massage function.

Lastly, some other notable standard features include HD surround vision, blind zone steering assist, enhanced automatic parking assist, intersection automatic emergency braking, Super Cruise hands-free driving, and more.
