Mercedes-AMG C-Class and E-Class Returning With V8 By 2026

Mercedes-AMG models are known for their finely tuned, well-calibrated, and potent engines. However, the AMG community is not that thrilled ever since German manufacturers adopted the turbo four-cylinder plug-in hybrid powertrain in the top model of the C-Class. Meanwhile, the upcoming AMG E 63 will receive a PHEV turbo inline-six setup.

However, we have good news now. According to the car and driver, the Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 will be coming back with its 4L twin-turbocharged V8. The decision comes after careful evaluation of the Mercedes-Benz models which can hardly stand against rivals from BMW and Audi.

The M5 will be hybridized but will keep its twin-turbo V8 motor. The future Audi RS models will be powered by a V6 hybrid powertrain and will not go back to inline-4.
