Overall Rating
A car that looks mean and sounds like a roar means business. A car that is perfect for family matters as well as for showing off. That is what the Dodge Charger is.
A car that looks mean and sounds like a roar means business. A car that is perfect for family matters as well as for showing off. That is what the Dodge Charger is. The car was revamped only last year, and this year brings in a few new features as well. Appreciated for its drive quality, usability, and performance, Dodge has made this car more fun now by introducing 3 new trims and one new transmission option.
We recommend the SXT variant as it is a good car to own and drive. Unlike earlier, you don’t need a V8-powered Dodge to enjoy the car. It also offers a ton of features, has comparatively good fuel economy figures, and a sense of luxury, thanks to the leather seating giving premium all around you.

The Charger is a fast car, but not as quick as the Taurus in the 0-60 mph. It clocks a 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds, with the quarter-mile coming up in about 15 seconds. It has the highest top speed number of 175 mph. The Taurus is a quick car even though it has less power and less torque but has the least top speed on the block.
Fuel economy on the Charger is excellent only on the 3.6 L V6 engine. With the bigger V8 engines, the charger is a very thirsty car. But as we have recommended the 3.6 L Charger, we looked up for its mileage numbers input in customer feedbacks. are going to test out its mileage figures. The base Charger comes up with 17 mpg in the city, 26 mpg on the highway, and 20 mpg combined.

The Taurus triumphs in the highway range (532 miles), making it a good car for long-distance touring despite having the least fuel capacity among the three of 19 gallons. The Charger’s range stands at 331.5 miles in the city and 507 on the highway, decent numbers. The Chrysler 300 is the same as the Charger, with a slightly better city mileage of 18 mpg.
The weak spot of the Charger used to be its boring interior tarnished by cheap materials. Last year’s revamp has changed all that for the better. The interior is much better, a lot refreshing than before. It’s very soft to feel, a lot of detail is seen, and excellent material quality with vast features is used to create it. the cabin space is excellent in the Charger, but the receding roofline makes it difficult for tall passengers to sit comfortably. The front seatbacks may seem firm for a few, but they offer good long-distance support. The sedan comes with a cargo capacity of 16.3 cubic feet.

In comparison, all three cars have a similar amount of space for front-seat passengers. The Taurus offers a little more extra space in the front row. The feel at the rear row is also the same as the cars are very much similar. When considering cargo capacity, the Taurus’s 20.1 cubic feet trunk does have an advantage over the other two. The 16.3 cubic feet trunk in both Chrysler 300 and Dodge feels just enough. Some standout interior features include:
The infotainment system on the Charger shows the development that has taken place as compared to the previous model. A lot of features are on offer now. The touchscreen infotainment interface is the biggest update on the infotainment system, and it is connected to a 6-speaker sound system. An optional Connectivity Group adds Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity. With the upper-level trims, a 9-speaker system is available. On the higher trims, you get a 19 speaker Harman Kardon audio system, one of the best in the class. Some standout infotainment features include:
The 2012 Dodge Charger is one of the most aggressive-looking cars in the market. It is poised like a predator, with a stance to pounce. The massive blacked-out grille makes it look deadly. Compared to the front, the rear looks like it was built to win races and be the only thing visible to the car behind, the sign of a winner. The smooth lines along the side don’t bulge out and add to the raw finesse of the car. This leads to a very well-designed car that is in a proportion no matter where you look at it from.

The Charger has a total length of 200.3 inches. It is 74.2 inches wide and 58.2 tall, with a wheelbase of 120.2 inches. The wheelbase on the car is indeed massive. Ford’s Taurus is the longest, widest and tallest car in the segment, with the shortest wheelbase. Some noteworthy exterior features of the Charger are:
The Dodge Charger scored a high 5-star rating in the crash tests conducted by the NHTSA. Not only does it look strong, but it is also great at protecting the passengers inside too. A lot of airbags, which encapsulate the passengers in the duration of a crash, make it a very safe car overall. As standard, it comes equipped with features like brake assist, traction control, and ABS. Some standout safety specifications include:
The Dodge Charger is a car you can buy irrespective of being a family man or not. While it still needs improvement in a few areas, it has taken massive strides in its interior compared to what it was before the revamp. It is not a segment leader, but it is a fighter. It can do a lot of family car jobs, but can also thrill you and give you an adrenaline rush. The luxurious cabin has a lot to offer, and we all love a powerful infotainment system. The high safety scores, the offered practical features, and the performance can make the Charger a daily car, and we feel you should get your hands on one.
