Overall Rating
The 2022 Infiniti Q60 Coupe is yet to be confirmed by the brand to make it to this year. However, if it does, expect the same 300hp generating 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 motor underneath the Q60. Infiniti may add some design tweaks in the form of new design headlights and taillights and some added features on the inside as well. Expect a starting price of nearly $42,000 and a late 2021 release date.
The 2022 Infiniti Q60 carries over majorly unchanged from 2021. A minor addition in the form of wireless Apple CarPlay comes on all trims, whereas all the other features and offered equipment remain the same. Since its redesign back in 2017, the Q60 has continued on with subtle changes over the years. The Q60 from Infiniti comes with a release date in the fall of 2021. The car comes in three trim levels, and goes for sale at a price of $41,750. The top-of-the-line Red Sport 400 trim is a performance-focused coupe car.
The specs sheet of the Q60 Pure and Luxe trims includes a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine churning out 300 bhp of power and 295 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain is completed with a 7-speed shiftable automatic torque converter transmission which powers the Rear Wheel Drivetrain (RWD), alongside an optional All-Wheel Drivetrain (AWD). The Red Sport 400 comes with the same engine but makes 100 hp more and has a 0-60 MPH time of 4.5 seconds.
The 2022 Infiniti Q60 goes up against a stiff and better-equipped competition that includes the Lexus RC350, the BMW 430i, and the Audi A5.
The 2022 Infiniti Q60 Luxe trim with AWD is the car we recommend. At $52,300, the Luxe trim adds more features over the base but attractive Pure trim. For the added cost, the Q60 gains leather upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, 360-degree camera system, Bose premium sound system, and usable advanced driver safety aids.

"The Pure model doesn't qualify for many extras, not even premium paint." - Edmunds
The 2022 Infiniti Q60 carries forward unchanged from 2021 with the exception of the introduction of wireless Apple CarPlay as standard functionality. It is still available in two distinct trim levels, Pure and Luxury, which share a common powertrain and can be configured as RWD or AWD variants. Prices for the Q60 start at around $41,750 and go up to $50,300. However, a more expensive and performance-oriented Red Sport 400 trim that costs $58,200 is also available with Q60, which has been reviewed separately.
The AWD models cost $2,000 extra, and the Q60 carries an additional destination charge of $1,025. The list of standard features found on all Q60s is impressive, and includes 19-inch alloy wheels, all-LED exterior lighting, power-adjustable front row seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and active noise cancellation. The Luxe trim also comes with an Essential Package that adds a power-adjustable steering wheel, navigation system, cabin air purifier, and driver's seat memory function that also includes memory for the steering wheel and side mirrors.

For the added cost, the Q60 gains leather upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, 360-degree camera system, Bose premium sound system, and usable advanced driver safety aids.
"The 300 horsepower V6 is easily energetic enough, a pleasure to rev and able to propel this premium compact coupe with an engaging briskness." - KBB
The 2022 Infiniti Q60 uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0L engine that makes 300 hp and has a torque output of 295 lb-ft. The car comes with RWD as standard and AWD costs an extra $2,000. The 2022 Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 uses the same engine but makes 100 hp more and 155 lb-ft of more torque. Both the engines come mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode.
Power delivery on the Q60 is linear, with controlled acceleration and some grunt. The 7-speed automatic transmission comes with a rev-matching feature, and the overall shifts are smooth but tend to lag once in a while. As for the suspension and chassis control, the Q60 coupe's ride quality is comfortable and consistent, and it only gets troublesome when the road starts getting worse. The Red Sport 400 with its adaptive dampers improves the comfort offered on the ride experience.
Coming to handling and steering, the Q60 is planted in corners, which helps to carry more speed and agility. The steering is decently responsive, and the tires offer good feedback of the road and conditions. All this helps the Q60 record a 0-60 MPH time of 5.5 seconds, with the quarter-mile coming up in 13.3 seconds and a top speed of 121 MPH. The Red Sport is quicker by a second, with a 0-60 MPH time of 4.5 seconds.

The Lexus makes the most power, but does not have the quickest 0-60 MPH time. The Bimmer is the least powerful of this entire lot, but it records a quicker 0-60 MPH time than the Q60 and the RC350. The A5 is the quickest car in the lot. When comparing the driving dynamics, the BMW fails to impress with its lazy steering, whereas the Lexus is more controlled and soft, unlike most couples. The A5 offers the most engaging driving dynamics with its responsive chassis, agile steering, and composed ride quality.
Like most sports coupe cars, the 2022 Infiniti Q60 is no exception to low economy figures. The car returns 19 MPG in the city, 28 MPG on the highway, and 22 MPG combined with the RWD setup. With AWD, this mileage drops by one MPG on the highway, which is a minimal decrease. The Q60's 20-gallon tank offers a range of 440 miles combined. The Red Sport model, however, returns 20 MPG city/ 27 MPG highway/ 22 MPG combined.

The European cars offer the most fuel economy among these four. The BMW 4 Series coupe comes with the smallest gas tank, but its superior mileage guarantees a highway range of at least 500 miles. The same goes with the A5. The Lexus, on the other hand, has everything better than the Q60, but is limited with its tank's capacity. The Q60 compromises for its low economy with its large fuel tank.
"Inside, the Q60 offers attractive and high quality materials, but the design is starting to look dated." - Car and Driver
Inside, the Q60 boasts an impeccably crafted cabin, laden with high-quality materials and unique trim levels like the silver optic fiber scheme which seamlessly integrates with the black interior. On the inside, the Q60 uses a lot of curved surfaces that go well with its sharp exterior. The interior is rich when it comes to the materials used and the overall fit and finish on the inside, but there's no denying that the Q60 has started to look dated in this 2017-facelift avatar. The interior is spacious, and the dash layout is neat and useful. Most of the controls are located in the central console itself.
The front row seating is extremely comfortable with abundant head, shoulder, and legroom on offer with adjustable side bolstering support, but the rear is cramped, and not comfortable for most teenagers as well. The driver and the passenger seats get an 8-way powered adjustable seating position with manually adjustable lumbar support and heating functionality. The Q60 can be equipped with an assortment of desirable features such as upgraded leather upholstery, heated front seats, and steering wheel, and a power-adjustable steering wheel sums up a pretty profitable deal overall. Active noise-canceling features keep the cabin pretty quiet.

Except for the BMW, all cars occupy 4 passengers. The 4-Series's interior is more modern and is practical, and extremely comfortable with lots of support. Inside the Lexus, the interior takes a more stylish way, but is more spacious and comfortable than the Q60's. In the A5, though its materials don't seem as premium as the rivals, excellent fit and finish levels with luxurious seating make them a very desirable car over the Q60. In terms of cargo capacity, the BMW takes a more realistic approach with its 12 cu-ft of storage against the Q60's tiny 8.7 cu-ft of storage.
The 2022 Infiniti Q60 continues with its dual-screen infotainment setup that we've seen before. This system is easy to operate (one screen at a time), has quick responses to touch inputs, and also comes with a simple user interface. However, the layout of the screens is a problem, and it increases the overall complexity of the system. The Q60's upper screen is a high-resolution 7-inch unit, whereas the lower screen is an 8-inch touchscreen. The Q60 gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and also an optional 13-speaker BOSE surrounds sound audio system is available with the upper trims. The 2022 Infiniti Q60 coupe will also come with features like:
"No oversized grilles or strange angular lines." - KBB
The 2022 Infiniti gets no changes to its exterior for 2022. The Q60 has continued in the same form since its update in 2017. The Infiniti Q60 coupe's styling is what we've always seen on sports coupe cars: a long hood, sloping roof, and a short tail. The front of the Q60 gets a large grille that's flanked by slim and sharp LED headlights. A chrome accent runs along the entire boundary of the grille and adds a premium to its looks. Its look is similar to that of a predator waiting to pounce on the prey.
The Q60 looks smashing from the side- the combination of large 19-inch alloy wheels with the tapered roof and muscular lines all along the door just enhances its sporty appearance even more. At the rear, the similar slim taillights with a short trunk lid with an integrated spoiler complement the dual exhaust setup. All in all, the Infiniti Q60 does everything right to showcase its aggressive, sporty, mean-looking profile. The Q60 gets no changes to its dimensions as well and comes with a wheelbase of 112.2 inches.

The Infiniti Q60 is quite similar in its dimensions to its rivals. In terms of weight, the A5 is the lightest, whereas the BMW is the heaviest. The BMW is also the longest and the widest car in this lot. When parked side by side, the Lexus's little more height against the rivals does not come out strong. The Lexus also features the tightest wheelbase at 107.5 inches. The longest wheelbase is on the Q60 and the BMW at 112.2 inches. Exterior features on the 2022 Infiniti Q60 include:
The 2021 Infiniti Q60 comes across as a pretty safe coupe for the sheer set of safety features on offer and we expect the same for the 2022 model too. Both the IIHS and the NHTSA are yet to test this Infiniti but be assured, the wide array of safety features on offer in this Infiniti makes it a very safe car for its occupants. The Q60 shares its platform with the Infiniti Q50. Both the cars are based on the Nissan FM platform. Some of the most prominent safety features of the 2021 Infiniti Q60 are:
The Infiniti Q60 and the 2022 Lexus RC 300 Coupe are both potent options in the segment and come as a sigh of relief against their German competitors. Both the coupes have cogent engines under their hoods, but the Infiniti proves to be the better option that accelerates rather quickly. Yet, it maintains efficiency by being equipped with a larger fuel tank and is higher in terms of range. In comparison to the RC300, the Q60's interior is more luxurious overall. The Lexus's interior is more comfortable in the front. All in all, the Infiniti Q60 is the better choice between the two cars.
The 2022 BMW 4 Series like every German coupe brings in a refined and sophisticated powertrain, that is not only quick and exhilarating but also good in terms of fuel economy. It gets a commodious cabin that is packed with luxury and is equipped to the hilt with class-leading features. It gets a striking silhouette and offers a more engaging ride when compared to the 2022 Q60. The Q60 on the other hand has a more traditional design, and it costs less than the 4-series. However, the 4-Series is a better car in most areas, making it the right pick against the Q60.
The 2022 Audi A5 is a better car against the Q60. It gets a smaller engine, but its the more engaging and thrilling car to drive against the Q60. The A5 also beats the Q60 in terms of fuel economy. When it comes to interior, the A5 is spacious, has more comfortable seating but falls short in the kind of materials used on the inside. The A5's infotainment unit is also much more easier to use and operate. The Q60, however, is cheaper and easier to maintain against the A5. With the modern tech and features offered on the A5, it is certainly the better car against the Q60.
The future of the 2022 Infiniti Q60 Coupe still lies in the balance as the company is yet to make sure of whether this model will make it to the 2022 model year or not. However, if it does get the green light, it will still continue to remain as one of the most well-built, stylish, frugal, and easy to live with coupes in the market. So, in case you are looking for a visually appealing, comfortable, practical, and decently powered 2-seater sports coupe, but on a tight budget, the 2022 Infiniti Q60 coupe might just be the ideal one for you.
