One of the biggest carmakers in the world, Honda, will be recalling over 750,000 units of their cars due to faulty fuel pumps. The issue arises due to pumps failing and hence stalling the engines. The recall as stated by the National Highway Safety Administration has a campaign number: 21V215000. A total of 628,000 vehicles are a total affected number in the United States.
There’s a long list of cars that are affected which also includes some of the Acura models. The affected cars range from model year 2018 to 2020. Models that are affected are:
- Acura ILX
- Acura MDX
- Acura MDX Sport Hybrid
- Acura RDX
- Acura TLX
- Honda Accord
- Honda Accord Hybrid
- Honda Civic (all variants)
- Honda Fit
- Honda HR-V
- Honda Odyssey
- Honda Passport
- Honda Pilot
- Honda Ridgeline
- Honda CR-V
Honda had already recalled 136,057 vehicles last year due to the fuel pump issues and this new recall seems to be the continuation of the same recall. The year 2019 also was the year of recall of the fuel pumps too and almost half a million vehicles were recalled due to it.
For now, there haven’t been any reported issues/accidents/injuries caused due to the issue. Honda has set up a dedicated site for this issue and owners would just have to enter the VIN number.
No accidents have been yet reported to Honda owing to issues arising from this defect and which is why Honda is wasting little time to sort out these niggles.
