The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor got a major overhaul in terms of design and performance when it got the flawless Fox Dual Valve Shocks and the fancy Code Orange Package. The new 2025 F-150 Raptor hasn’t got any major changes, except for its price tag which now runs well into the 110s, crossing that thin line between performance per dollar Ford is known for.
So if you are in the market for a supertruck you have some decent options. The F-150 Raptor, Raptor-R, Tremor, and the sensational Ram 1500 TRX. The lattermost is in its final year with only 4000 more scheduled for production, fyi. The classic Fox vs Bilstein saga continues with the former edging past its archnemesis by a millimeter in on-road comfort. But off-road both TRX and Raptor are mind-bogglingly fast trucks that will run 12-second quarter miles on friggin dry lake beds and gravel pits.

Spec-wise they look like siblings rather than competitors, tbh. But are you willing to spend $12,000 on the Ford F-150 Raptor- R, which is only marginally better? I will be able to live with a couple of hundred pounds of less towing capacity and half a second 0-60 mph penalty. Besides, I think that the fit and finish of TRX’s interior are way better than Ford’s F150 Raptor.
What about the vanilla Ford F-150 Raptor? Powered by a Twin Turbocharged V6 it has 450 hp and and 510 lb-ft of torque. Most importantly tho, it's nearly $32,000 less than its relentless V8 brother, and still packs the excellent Fox Live Valve Shocks. If you can live without the brand marking, do check out the ferociously capable Tremor, which will save you almost $15,000 compared to the base Raptor.

Besides, the V6 sounds pretty good with aftermarket legal exhaust systems and can give 12 MPG combined, 4 more than the 720 hp supercharged V8 provides.
So between the 2025 Ford F-150 Raptor and the outgoing RAM TRX, the latter is a no-brainer choice as for an additional $10,000 more you get a sweet supercharged V8 and a better interior. The much-hyped RAM 1500 RHO was also just launched with a brand new TT Hurricane inline six producing 540 hp. The RHO is poised to dethrone the Raptor but you would need to have enough patience for reviews which will be coming along shortly.
Now when it comes to the 2025 Ford F-150 Raptor R and the TRX, the former does pack a marginally better suspension setup but the $32,000 price bump is a tough pill to swallow for everyone except for those in the 1 percenter off-road club. The only reason you would consider the 2025 version of the F-150 Raptor is if you have the unreasonable urge to get Space White and Grey paint, the only change in MY 2025. You can also consider a used 2024 Ford- F150 Raptor from previous years for some decent savings.
