In the last couple of years, Infiniti has been positioned as a brand with a long-term vision. And it is this direction that shows through the development. Engineered for an uncompromising blend of luxury and performance, the QX80 is a promising and powerful full-size SUV that is sure to be the backbone of any fleet. The new Infiniti QX80 is a full-size extended-length SUV produced by Infiniti. It is the highest-end model in the Nissan Armada line, distinguished by its exterior appearance, cabin luxury, uncompromised performance, and lengthened wheelbase.
Since the QX80 is primarily designed as a commuting option, we feel it ought to come with all the luxury amenities that Infiniti offers. We therefore strongly recommend you select the top-of-the-line Sensory trim. You will feel more luxurious in the QX80 with it. The 22-inch wheels make it look good on the outside, but you will be more impressed by the interior. Further, it comes equipped with Hydraulic Body Motion Control, auto-leveling headlights, and a speed-sensitive power steering wheel. It also comes with a 17-speaker audio system and a rear-seat entertainment system. The Sensory trim keeps the QX80's price relatively reasonable compared to its rivals while offering a new level of luxury.

Earlier this month, Infiniti released the 2022 QX80. You can now order the 2022 Infiniti QX80 from your local dealerships or on the official Infiniti website. The actual delivery date is yet to be set but is expected by the end of 2021.
As the pinnacle of Infiniti's luxury and performance lineup, the QX80 boasts a powerful engine. A powerful 5.6-liter V8 is the only engine offered in the 2022 Infiniti QX80, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. Powered by an engine that cranks out 400 horsepower and 413 pounds of torque, this SUV is capable. A rear-wheel-drive system is standard on this SUV while a four-wheel drive is optional. Depending on how it is equipped, the 2022 QX80 can tow up to 8,500 pounds.
With a 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds, the 2022 Infiniti QX80 will run the quarter-mile in 14.3 seconds, topping out at 142 mph. Thanks to the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system in the Sensory trim, the QX80 rides smooth and pleasantly for a vehicle of this mass. It turns easily and feels stable around turns thanks to the QX80's light and responsive steering. While cruising, the interior is extremely quiet, with almost no road or wind noise.

While the Lincoln Navigator has class-leading power and torque characteristics, it is also the most expensive vehicle in its class. It is closely followed by the Cadillac Escalade, and the Infiniti QX80 is less powerful than those two. In spite of its limited power, BMW's base powertrain is faster than all of its competitors. While it may lack a few features, the Infiniti SUV outperforms all other models in its class when it comes to towing ability.
It should come as no surprise that luxury SUVs often suffer from poor fuel economy. QX80 is no different. According to the EPA, the Infiniti QX80 gets 14 mpg on the city streets, 20 mpg on the highway, and 16 mpg combined, which is not an impressive feat for a large luxury SUV. Adding four-wheel drive further reduces the city mpg rating to 13 mpg and the highway mpg to 19 mpg. Additionally, it has a large fuel tank that can hold 26 gallons of fuel, so you can drive for more than 400 miles without having to stop at a gas station.

The BMW X7 offers the most gas-efficient fuel economy of all the heavy SUVs in this class, while all the rest are gas guzzlers. With its class-leading MPG numbers and high mileage, the BMW has made a mark in this market. The Lincoln Navigator, the second most fuel-efficient SUV after the X7, follows close behind. The QX80 and Escalade offer relatively similar fuel economy, however, the QX80 has a larger fuel tank.
There is so much peace of mind that comes with an Infiniti. With acres of interior space, you can fit up to seven passengers in the 2022 QX80 without sacrificing comfort. Despite its spacious interior, the cabin of the 2022 Infiniti QX80 is visually disappointing. Although this SUV's dashboard, steering wheel, and center console are composed of high-end materials, they haven't changed much since it debuted back in 2011. While it looks an excellent value, it is no more luxurious than some of its competition. A heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, and heated front seats are standard. Second-row heated seats, and ventilated seats, are available as options.
The 2022 Infiniti QX80 SUV features seven seats and a three-row design. You can choose either a captain's chair or bench seat for the second row of seats. Whatever the configuration, the QX80 has ample space in the front and back rows, but the third row is somewhat cramped for an SUV of this size. The second row of seats can be configured with captain's chairs or bench seats with consoles. The QX80 has very spacious cargo bays. Behind the third row, there are 16.6 cubic feet of space, and when all back seats are folded, there is up to 95.1 cubic feet. However, these numbers can't even compare to the long-wheelbase variants of the Escalade or Navigator.

In comparison to bigger SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade, the Infiniti QX80 has less headroom and legroom for front and rear passengers. It does not offer as much space as Cadillac or Lincoln despite folding all the seats. Although it is smaller, it still beats the BMW X7 in terms of total cargo capacity. Some of the noteworthy interior features of the 2022 Infiniti QX80 include:
In 2022, the QX80 will be equipped with the same updated infotainment system as the 2021 Nissan Armada. There is a new 12.3-inch touchscreen, replacing the previous dual-screen setup with 8.0- and 7.0-inch displays. Apple CarPlay uses wireless technology, but Android Auto still needs to be connected via a cable. All models come standard with navigation, a 13-speaker Bose sound system, and wireless phone charging. In the top-tier Sensory trim, a 17-speaker Bose system and a dual-screen rear entertainment system are included. The 2022 Infiniti QX80 infotainment includes the following features:
The 2022 QX80 is Infiniti's biggest vehicle ever, and it features a dramatic exterior design with unmatched levels of personalization and versatility with the most cargo space in its segment for your everyday needs. The 2022 QX80 design utilizes the same exterior architecture as other Infiniti models. The front fascia is wide and low, with a slim grille that combines into an All-Shield front end. The headlights are integrated into the three-dimensional grille. The grille frame is finished in chrome with a diamond mesh pattern, which distinguishes it from the other Infiniti models.
The exterior design of the 2022 QX80 strongly conveys its athletic layout with a modern, yet powerful stance. The front fascia is luxurious, edgy, and confident, while the rear deck shows off a bold sightline that emphasizes strength and uncompromising volume. While the Luxe and Premium Select trims feature 20-inch wheels, the Sensory trim rides on larger 22-inch wheels. In addition, it comes with a fully automatic projector beam, LED low/high beams, and automatic high beams as well as LED taillights as standard equipment.

The Infiniti QX80 is still lighter than cars like the similarly-sized Lincoln Navigator despite being one of the bulkiest full-size SUVs. QX80's ground clearance is above average by segment standards. In this comparison, the Cadillac Escalade has the largest interior space, while the X7 has the smallest form factor, which allows it to offer a superior ride and handling to others. Highlights of the 2022 Infiniti QX80 exterior include:
The QX80's safety is another area where it falls short and needs to improve while its competitors continually upgrade their vehicles with the latest driver assistance and safety technology. The Infiniti QX80 has some of the lowest crash safety ratings among luxury full-size three-row SUVs. NHTSA awarded the 2021 model a four-star rating overall when it was tested on the five-star rating scale. The SUV scored three stars for frontal and rollover protection while earning a five-star side accident rating.
The 2021 QX80 has not been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The ratings for the 2022 QX80 are not available yet. Seatbelt pretensioners for the first and second rows, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking for both front and rear, and a rear-seat occupant reminder are standard driver-assist and active safety features. Other standard safety features include:
The Cadillac Escalade has been the benchmark for full-size luxury SUVs for a decade now. In the face of a formidable opponent, the 2022 QX80 has no chance. By offering a base engine with higher horsepower and torque than the QX80, the Cadillac outclasses the latter in performance rankings. There is also a turbo-diesel option on the Cadillac that is not available on the Infiniti. With its massive dimensions, the Escalade practically drives like a car. But the QX80 is more affordable and handles well.
There is plenty of space within both of these, and they offer very similar performances. The Lincoln Navigator, however, is the more luxurious and spacious option. The QX80, on the other hand, is the more practical one. In comparison to the Navigator, the QX80 is less expensive, but the Navigator does have more premium and luxury features for the extra money you spend. Although the Lincoln Navigator is more expensive, it offers superior comfort and maximum passenger space.
In this comparison, the BMW simply blows away the QX80 with its extraordinary drivability, handling, fuel efficiency, and outrageous performance. Your choice really comes down to personal preference and use. If you want a big SUV with sporty handling, then a BMW X7 would be a good choice. If you're looking for a luxury SUV that can get you around town and is reasonably priced, consider the Infiniti QX80.
The new Infiniti QX80 is a promising full-size SUV, built around customers' needs and expectations, and enhanced by a carefully applied technology suit, offering a car that can master all sorts of situations on any type of road. Even though it doesn't have a visually impressive cabin like some of its rivals, it is equally practical and of excellent quality. Overall, the 2022 Infiniti QX80 is a great choice for those who need a large and luxurious SUV that has plenty of features and is quite affordable.
