Lotus produced some fine cars over the years. However, its latest EV defines how an EV sedan should be. The recently unveiled 4-door GT named Emeya is the new flagship car that is set to arrive in the US by 2024. For more details, just scroll down.
2025 Lotus Emeya EV Is Coming As The New Flagship GT Car

The luxury electric-sedan segment has just got one more player. Introducing the Lotus Emeya. The new four-door GT sedan is also classified as the new 4-door hatchback or 5-door liftback. It is underpinned by the electric Eletre SUV which is also the new model on the Lotus lineup.

The British manufacturer is assembling the Eletre and Emeya models in its Wuhan, Hubei plant in China. That said, the Lotus Emeya is expected to arrive in the USA next year for the 2025 model year.

Lotus calls its new model ‘Hyper GT’ and it has been launched to directly compete with the Porsche Taycan sedan. Yes, it is the same Taycan that made a new record for an EV not too long ago. That said, the 2025 Emeya sedan also rivals the Lucid Air, and and the Tesla Model S.

Now let us get to powertrain and other performance features. The Emeya hatchback/sedan borrows the dual-motor electric setup from the Lotus Eletre SUV. Furthermore, the front and rear motors provide a standard output of 603 horsepower and 523 lb-ft of torque.

However, on upper trims, you can get an increased output of 905 horsepower and 727 lb-ft of torque output that is supplied to wheels through a 2-speed transmission. This setup will remind you of the Porsche Taycan. Additionally, just like other EVs, the Emeya also has an all-wheel drive system. Also, it has a default air suspension.

The 2025 Lotus Emeya sedan also has a 102.0-kWh battery pack and an 800V electrical architecture with a DC fast charging at up to 350 kilowatts. The new Lotus EV can get charged up to 80% in 18 minutes or 93 miles in 5 minutes.

Furthermore, the Emeya with 905-hp output can accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 2.8 seconds. It can also achieve a top speed of 159 MPH. As far as the range is concerned, the EPA estimates are not available yet. However, depending on the trim selection, the Emeya will likely offer an electric range between 260 miles and 315 miles with respect to the trim selection.

Meanwhile, it is true that even when we are discussing Emeya’s design, it has taken inspiration from its sibling, the electric Eletre crossover. However, it is more aerodynamic. It has a better stance on the road and it has a lower center of gravity which Lotus likes to call ‘hyperstance’. It allows better performance than Eletre.

Moreover, it is aided by many aerodynamic exterior features such as the active front grille, rear diffuser, and an active dual-layer rear spoiler that gets activated to provide a downforce of more than 474 lbs.

Moving on to the interior. The Emeya’s cabin shares similarities with the Eletre as well. High-quality materials such as Alcantara, Ultrafabrics PU, Nappa leather, and PVD aluminum are in abundance. The interior has a modern layout. The seating capacity is limited to 4 but an options seating capacity of 5 is provided by rear bench seats. Otherwise, you will find bucket seats in the second row.

At the same time, integrated road noise cancellation (RNC) keeps the interior quiet and peaceful while the rear hatch opens up to provide a spacious cargo area. Overall, every bit and piece is designed and arranged to offer maximum practicality and comfort.

The Emeya comes equipped with a standard 15.1-inch infotainment touchscreen but you have an option to select the available 55.0-inch augmented-reality head-up display. For a better music experience, the Emeya has a 3D surround sound system with Dolby Atmos support.

That being said, buyers will also get lane departure, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision alerts, and many other safety features.

Now the most important question. What is the price of the 2025 Emeya EV? Honestly, the price information is not officially out yet. However, we expect the Emeya to start around $100,000 but if you are getting the 905-hp model then the base price will be likely over $150,000.

The production of the new electric Grand Tourer (GT) will start in 2024. The exact date or duration at which the Emeya will arrive in the US dealerships is still unknown. We will update the further details as soon as they are out.
